In this video tutorial, you'll learn how to setup a simple Analytics Dashboard in just a few minutes connected to your data.
Creating an Analytics Dashboard
Add a page within Frontly by pressing the New Page button on the top right of your home page.
Give your page a name, by replacing the “New Page” text at the top left of the page with a title of your choosing.
Click General in the sidebar, and set your page route. The Route name is generally the same as the page name, and begins with a backslash.
In order to bring in data from your existing API when the dashboard is opened, select the Actions tab of the sidebar, and click New Item+, then HTTP Request.
Give your API a name using the field in the top left of the API popup, replacing the text Action 1.
Paste your API URL into the Endpoint URL field, and click Fetch Remote Data. Exit the Actions popup by clicking the X in the top right.
Now back on the main page, click the Add Sections button. This can also be done by clicking Content>New Item+ within the sidebar.
Select the Dashboard module. This module allows you to add as many of Frontly’s individual cards as you want. The resulting dashboard will place these modules in a convenient side-by-side layout that dynamically responds to page size, ensuring your content always looks great.
From here you can add any of Frontly’s available modules. Select one to begin, and set it up as usual. As a refresher: Here’s a tutorial on how to add a new module.
If you’d like to map a module to your own data using an API, here’s a tutorial on how to map your source data to one of Frontly’s modules.
Once you’ve set up your module using the data source you pulled in with your external API, the module will display in your dashboard. Additional modules can be added in the sidebar by clicking Page>Dashboard>Content>New Item+. Set them up as usual, and they will appear within the dashboard module alongside existing items.
